Built for What's Next: How medmix Designed a Global Compliance Program That Scales

When a company lists on a stock exchange and establishes itself as a fully independent organization, the opportunity to build something purpose-built is significant. For medmix, a Swiss-listed global leader in high-precision delivery devices, that moment became a strategic inflection point for compliance. Rather than simply maintaining existing processes, medmix seized the opportunity to design a unified, scalable program built specifically for where the company was headed.

Headquartered in Switzerland and operating across healthcare, industrial, and consumer goods sectors, medmix has a presence spanning Brazil, China, Germany, India, Spain, the UK, and the USA. Managing compliance across that footprint, across multiple jurisdictions and regulatory regimes, requires a platform and a partner equal to the task. Through a strategic partnership with GAN Integrity, medmix built exactly that.

Building for Scale: A Compliance Program Designed to Grow

Following its IPO and separation from its former parent company, medmix had a clear vision for what its compliance program needed to look like as a standalone, publicly listed organization. Rene Keiser, Chief Compliance Officer, oversees a broad mandate covering ethics, data privacy, investigations, and third-party governance. The goal was a centralized, globally consistent program that could scale alongside the business without creating friction.

medmix selected GAN Integrity for its ability to bring the core components of a modern compliance program under one roof, including third-party due diligence, whistleblowing, investigations, policies, and training. Equally important was configurability. medmix wasn't looking for a generic solution.

"A key reason for choosing GAN Integrity was its ability to be configured to our specific risk profile rather than forcing us into a 'one size fits all' setup," Rene says. "We tailored workflows to reflect how medmix operates as a standalone listed company."

The implementation followed a deliberate, phased approach, starting with key suppliers in one business unit before extending across the organization. Workflows, questionnaires, and approval paths were all configured to match medmix's specific operating model.

The Result: A 97% Reduction in Third-Party Review Times

The most striking outcome of the partnership has been the transformation of medmix's third-party risk management process. Managing a globally distributed base of suppliers and customers across regulated industries requires both rigor and speed. medmix and GAN Integrity redesigned the process from the ground up, beginning with a focused three-day workshop to define requirements and followed by structured weekly process meetings.

The result was a highly automated, risk-based workflow. Lower-risk parties can now be entered, screened, and approved within minutes, while the compliance team's attention is preserved for the matters that genuinely require it.

"Reducing average third-party review cycle time by around 97% has freed up our team to focus on high-risk matters," Rene shared.

That shift in how the team spends its time is perhaps the most meaningful part of the story. Automation handled the routine. The team got back to doing the work that matters.

Compliance Visibility, Consistency, and Confidence

Beyond the efficiency gains, the partnership has delivered something equally valuable: a compliance program that leadership can see and trust. Customized dashboards now surface the KPIs that matter to senior management, the Board, and the Audit Committee, without the manual effort that typically accompanies that kind of reporting. Structured workflows ensure that data from every region is captured consistently and traceably. And integrated sanctions screening keeps pace with a regulatory environment that can shift quickly.

The compliance platform is also built to expand. medmix is already exploring how existing workflows can support ESG data collection and healthcare compliance, extending the value of what has already been built.

As Rene puts it: "The solution has strengthened our compliance program while enabling the business to move faster. It allows us to focus where it really matters."

For any global, regulated company thinking about what a modern compliance program should look like, the medmix story is a compelling example of what becomes possible when the right technology meets the right partnership.
